Interdisciplinary 4 year PhD opportunity

A 4 year Interdisciplinary PhD opportunity to join the team. Can we predict lameness in cattle early?

In the era of big data and technology, this industry linked interdisciplinary PhD project aims to use a range of methodologies from across disciplines of veterinary science (lameness epidemiology, precision livestock, animal behaviour), statistics (interpolation methods such as spine interpolation and gaussian process regression) and computer science (machine learning especially deep learning) to overcome challenges of data heterogeneity in terms of type and frequency of data and feature selection and accuracy of algorithms and create new knowledge and tools to predict lameness in dairy cows.
